OVERVIEW OF LONG-TERM DEVELOPING PLANNING

In support of government efforts, Korea Power Exchange forecasts electricity demand and establishes the Basic Plan for Long-Term Electricity Supply & Demand to ensure reliable supply to consumers. The basic power development plan refers to the comprehensive plan including demand forecast, power plant construction (fuel mix), demand-side management, and transmission and transformation facilities construction. To prepare for deviations in the demand forecast due to business fluctuations and uncertainties, the plan seeks to secure certain amounts of reserve capacities even in case of delayed generating capacity additions.
